I started reading my first book on Tuesday, it is called "Snow Flower and The Secret Fan". The story happened in nineteenth-century China. So far it has been very interesting to me because I have some basic knowledge of Chinese history of that time period. At that time, women generally don't have rights. For example. they had to bind their feet. And most of them didn't have the opportunity to go to school.
I emailed two Psychology professors on Thursday. I am excited that I heard back from one of them today and she said she was willing to meet with me.
I also started my Survey for Calculus class at USD this week. The professor is very nice. She always makes jokes during class, so her class is pretty fun.
That's one of the books I planned on reading during vacation! lol. I remember doing research about women feet binding in 10th grade because I was really interested in that period of Chinese history. It really is astounding how different countries interpret the meaning of beauty. But then again, fashion is fashion.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds a really good book to read especially when the setting is in China. I really enjoy reading books that the setting is taking place in another country.
